When it wasnt stopping a Cast Member tried to use his body to block it from hitting the audience, and the force threw him backward. He seemed to have hit his head. He did stop the boulder from hitting guests. Honestly, it did not look like it was moving all that fast, but it was enough force to push him backwards.
